This guide covers the essential steps for loading, unloading, and editing filaments, managing the CFS interface, and optimizing slicing settings to streamline your printing process.
1. Loading and Unloading Filaments in the CFS
1.1 Loading and Unloading Filaments
Loading Filaments:
Insert the filament into the CFS and align its tip with the corresponding silo’s Teflon tube. Gently push the filament in until you feel resistance; at this point, the CFS will automatically load it.

Unloading Filaments:
First, ensure the filament is not inside the extruder. If not, simply lift the filament out of the CFS. If the filament is in the extruder, click "Retract Filament" to return it to the CFS, then remove it.

1.2 Edit Filament Settings
RFID Filaments:
When RFID filaments are loaded, the printer automatically reads their information. In this case, the "VIEW" button appears under the filament, and the "EDIT" button is not available.
Ordinary Filaments:
For standard filaments, the system will detect their presence but display a "?" symbol, indicating that the filament information is missing. This activates the "EDIT" button.
Manual Editing:
Click the "EDIT" button and select the appropriate details: "Brand," "Filament Type," "Filament Name," and "Filament Color." Once the correct information is entered, click "OK" to save the settings.

1.3 Filament Management Interface Overview
The filament management interface consists of two sections: the external rack on the left and the CFS (Controlled Filament System) on the right. Each filament in the CFS is labeled with a silo number, such as 1A, indicating its position.

1. Pre-Loading Button::
Click this button to read the filament. If successful, the screen displays the remaining filament and its color. If it fails, a "?" appears, prompting you to manually edit the filament information.
2. Empty Silo State:
An empty silo is represented by a "/" symbol and cannot be edited.
3. RFID Filament (Read Successfully):
When an RFID filament is successfully read, an eye icon appears, allowing you to view filament information. RFID filaments cannot be edited. To switch to non-RFID filaments, click the pre-loading button, wait for the system to complete the read, and then manually edit the filament details.
4. Ordinary Filaments:
These filaments support manual editing.
5. RFID Filament (Unreadable State):
If the RFID filament cannot be read, a "?" is displayed. Click the "EDIT" button to manually input filament details.
6. CFS Humidity Status:
The humidity indicator uses color codes:
- Green: Optimal humidity level.
- Orange: Slightly high humidity.
- Red: High humidity; replacing the desiccant is recommended.
1.4 CFS Settings Overview
Access the CFS settings by clicking the "Settings" button on the interface.

- Insertion Detection: This function automatically detects and reads RFID filament data. You can disable this feature if you are using standard (non-RFID) filaments.
- Startup Detection: When enabled, the printer will sequentially read the RFID filaments during startup, ensuring proper filament recognition.
- Automatic Refill Filament: This feature automatically refills the filament when the same type and color are available in another silo. It allows continuous printing without prompting you to reload or replace the filament manually.
2. How to start printing on Screen?
In this comprehensive guide, we'll walk you through how to replace the thermistor on Ender 3 V2 step by step.

2.1 File Selection and Filament Mapping
- Tap the File button on the screen. Review the filament mapping status, then click Print.
- Area 1 (as shown in Figure 1) displays the filament color and type required by the file. For example, a white background for PLA means white PLA is needed.
- Area 2 shows the mapping status after matching the file requirements to the CFS silos. If a specified color (e.g., green PLA) is unavailable, an alternative (e.g., blue PLA) may be automatically selected.
- If the mapping fails, you will see "--," prompting manual filament selection.

When CFS is enabled, it prioritizes using CFS filaments for printing. If CFS is off, the external rack filaments are used, and multi-color prints default to single-color mode. Print calibration includes automatic leveling and AI-based adjustments.
2.2 File Selection and Filament Mapping
Once you click Print, the CFS system automatically loads the correct filaments, so no manual intervention is needed.

4. How to Slice
4.1 Import the 3MF File
Download the desired 3MF file and drag it into the slicer software.

4.2 Set Printer Model
Select K2Plus as the printer model from the slicer settings.

4.3 Choose Filament Type
Change the filament setting to HyperPLA or another compatible filament.
Note: Avoid using the default HyperPLA RFID option, as it limits the print speed to 50.

4.4 Slice the Model
Click Slice to process the model for printing.

4.5 Verify Filament Mapping
After slicing, ensure that the printer is correctly selected and the filament mapping aligns with the CFS silos.
Important: Only connected printers support sending G-code directly. Printers not connected to CFS or non-multi-color printers will not support filament mapping.

During slicing, the software will automatically match filaments with the CFS silos (automatic mapping). If the automatic mapping does not meet your needs, you can manually select the desired filaments (manual mapping).

Conclusion
Proper filament management and slicing configuration are fundamental for maintaining optimal performance and print quality in CFS-enabled 3D printing systems. By adhering to these guidelines for loading, unloading, and configuring filaments, users can ensure efficient operations, precise multi-color printing, and consistent, high-quality output across various print projects.
