How to Replace the K2 Nozzle?

Replacing the nozzle is a normal part of maintaining your 3D printer.

This guide walks you through when and how to replace the K2 nozzle , what tools you’ll need, and what to check after installation.

Tools You’ll Need

Before starting, prepare the following items:

6 mm socket spanner Thermal grease New compatible K2 nozzle How to Replace the Nozzle on Your Creality K2 Printer? Step 1: Retract the Filament

On the printer screen, go to: Filament → Retract

Wait until the filament is fully unloaded.

Step 2: Move the Z-Axis Navigate to: Movement / Temp → Z-axis homing

Once homing is complete:

Tap 30 mm → Z ⇣ to lower the build platform to the middle or lower area of the printer, leaving enough space to work comfortably.

Step 3: Heat the Hotend Set the hotend temperature according to the filament type:

PLA : 220 °C ABS : 240 °C Heating softens any residual filament and allows the nozzle to be removed safely.

Step 4: Remove the Old Nozzle Using a 6 mm socket spanner, carefully unscrew the old nozzle counterclockwise. Be mindful of the high temperature during this step.

Step 5: Apply Thermal Grease

Apply a thin, even layer of thermal grease to the pipe section of the new nozzle.

This improves heat transfer and helps ensure proper installation.

Step 6: Install the New Nozzle Using the socket spanner, screw the new nozzle in clockwise until secure.

Do not overtighten. Again, be cautious of the hot nozzle.

Step 7: Test Filament Extrusion Go to:

Filament → Extrude

Check that filament flows smoothly from the nozzle without interruption or leakage.

Device Self-Check After Replacement

To ensure optimal performance after replacing the nozzle, run the built-in calibration:

1. Go to Prepare → Calibration

2. Check Input Shaping and Auto Leveling

3. Tap Start Detecting and wait for the process to complete

This helps maintain print accuracy and stability.
