Part 3: Creality K2 Plus Key Innovations

1. CFS (Creality Filament System) - Multi-Color Printing
CFS (Creality Filament System) is an intelligent filament management system. Using RFID technology, it intelligently identifies the type, color and weight of the filament and selects the most appropriate one for printing. By connecting four units in parallel, it can process up to 16 colors simultaneously. The system automates filament loading and replacement, saving users the hassle of changing filaments. It also serves as a well-sealed drying box for long-term filament storage.
2. 350*350*350mm Build Volume
The K2 Plus, with a print size of 350x350x350 mm and a machine print volume utilization rate of 26%, is the largest printer in the K Series. It outmatches other multi-color printers on the market, like the Bambu X1 Carbon with a build volume of 256x256x256 mm and the Anycubic Kobra 3 at 250x250x260 mm. This makes the K2 Plus ideal for a broader range of industrial applications.
3. Tilt Detection
Unlike the K1 series, the K2 Plus is equipped with two AI cameras. One is located near the nozzle for flow and pressure advance (PA) calibration, ensuring high print quality. The other is mounted on the front frame for video monitoring and print failure detection, which helps prevent material waste and can automatically stop the printer in case of issues.
4. Apus Direct Drive Extruder
The K2 Plus utilize Apus Direct Drive Extruder, which significantly enhances printing performance. As the second-generation extruder in the K series, the Apus Extruder is highly integrated, easy to maintain, wear-resistant, and long-lasting. Additionally, issues with plugging and jamming have been greatly optimized and improved.
5. FOC Closed-Loop Motors
For K2 Plus, all XYZ axes and the extruder are driven by closed-loop servo motors. Unlike open-loop stepper motors, these servo motors offer 32,768 micro-steps per revolution, resulting in high torque, smooth and rapid response, and excellent step accuracy. Additionally, the motors are regulated by Field Oriented Control (FOC) based on varying voltages, which significantly reduces the risk of thermal runaway and prevents jams caused by overheating.

6. Max Speed 600mm/s, Max Acceleration 30,000mm/s²
The K2 Plus has a maximum speed of 600mm/s, a maximum acceleration of 30,000mm/s², and a nozzle temperature of 350℃. Its high-flow hot end supports a flow rate of 40mm³/s, which can achieve high-speed printing; the closed-loop motor maintains a constant temperature of 60℃ in the cavity, making printing engineering materials more stable, reducing warping and cracking of large-size models, and ensuring optimal performance under high-speed printing; all-metal gears and hardened steel structure ensure durability under high temperatures.
